Taxi service is the most expensive way of travelling around Croatia, except in Zagreb and Rijeka where taxi service is regulated and prices are fair and affordable. Anywhere else you can expect everything but not a fair price, especially on the islands.

Taxi should be your last option of transportation if you don’t have a big taxi budget to spend on holidays – you better use public transportation everywhere possible, it’s very affordable and safe. If you need a ride, but still want to avoid public transportation, try to deal a good ride price with some other transport options or try to arrange transport with your receptionist if you stay in a hotel or with your host in private accommodation.
